I value companies — and I teach valuation to those who value companies themselves.
I began my career as a military officer, working primarily in intelligence. The mindset has never changed: reliable conclusions must be built from incomplete, noisy data. I earned degrees in electrical engineering and in finance and accounting, worked at a company specializing in corporate integration, served as CFO and as group CEO, then opened my own audit firm. I began studying business valuation in the United States and added formal training in mathematics — because a company's value is not a feeling, it is a model. For twenty-five years I was also a diving instructor — that is where I learned what it means to prepare for a decision that cannot be undone.
